I visited the Maryland Science Center with a friend, and while we appreciated the exhibits, it’s definitely more geared toward younger kids than adults. We had hoped for a mix of hands-on and in-dept…Full review by amalco2

We took our 2 YO to kill some time. The Kids Area is great, but really needs to be expanded. The museum overall was not appropriate for my son. In fact, the exhibits were quite boring and lots of rea…Full review by 221mereditht

Not for adults. The exhibits were not that interesting and a few of them were actually broken. I would not recommend adults attend the science museum. Kids would probably like it for a while.Full review by NICKH2455
I find a lot of Science Centers are really geared towards kids. I'm 28, would probably go buy myself. Would this still be a good place for me to visit or would I feel weird and out of place in a place that is very kids-centric?

Hi, I am planning a trip to Baltimore with two 11 year old boys. Is there something for their age or is this more of a little kid place? I only see little kids in the pictures. We went to the science museum in St. Louis last year and it was great for big kids. I'm hoping this is comparable.

My kids were 7 and 10 when we went and they both had fun. I didn't find this science center to be as interactive as others that we have been to around the country but the kids still enjoyed it. Unless your boys are very interested in science, I would say figure on this being a half day activity.
Do you have to buy the tickets online or are they available on site?
A:
No, you do not have to buy tickets in advance. I think you can order online if you prefer. There are times when there can be a long line, depending on day and time. Hope this helps you.
My 3-year old is the kind of kid whose favorite "toy" is everyday electrical devices - vacuums, fans, air pumps, extension cords, etc. Would he enjoy MSC, or should we wait a few years?

I just retired after spending 49 years as a research engineer for Johns Hopkins. I started out as a child taking stuff apart. I took my 6 year old grandson to the Baltimore Science Center last weekend and he loved. A 3 year old is not going to understand the why, but if he loves playing with household devices he will love the amount of hands on experiments. There is a special area on the top floor dedicated to the really young, but all floors have hands on stuff for the children. My grandson started at 2 with Duplos and at 3 years old he moved to Legos. I would bet you child will love the Science Center hands own aspect. The older children and adults can enjoy the "why it works" part of the experiments.
