The park camp ground has water available at the bathroom shower area's and the office, unfortunately not at the camp sites which includes electric sites and tent camping. The water by the way is quite good at these access areas. You have to bear in mind that what taste's good to me may not to you, I live in the country and have a private well ( no chlorine).

When ever we go to Trempealeau our bikes, Kayaks, and hiking shoes are with us, so what ever the weather we can go exploring. The Biking possibilities are very good, leaving the park to the North on the Great River Trail which will take you to the "National Wildlife Sanctuary" with its many trails and then off further north toward Winona Min. very scenic and peaceful. Travel South from the Park on the Great River Trail and it will take you over a number of rivers that flow thru the area with some very unique bridges, and again the scenery is fantastic. The wild life, both birds & animals are abundant which ever direction you should go. The water trails are marked and fun to follow, however we like to just put in kayaks and go exploring. The Trempealeau river travels thru the park, it can be followed up stream at the boat landing following the right water trail. After about a very pleasant paddle up stream ( roughly 1 hour depending on water level) it joins with the main Trempealeau River which takes you to the left and back down stream with a fantastic drift back to the boat landing. There are also many back water lakes to explore below the dam, and all of the paddling doesn't require shuttles. The skill level for biking is moderate, just good cruising trails. The same is true with Paddling, no real challenges unless your fishing and hook one of the many "Big Ones" out there. As far as a visual experience all you have to do is absorb everything that you see, the beauty of the area is truly fantastic and it's all around you.
