US president Donald Trump heaped praise on Japan's first female leader Sanae Takaichi and said the Asian nation will become a U.S. “ally at the strongest level” as he signed deals on rare earths and trade.

TRUMP TRAVELS TO JAPAN: President Donald Trump has arrived in Japan, the second stop on his three-country Asia tour. He met with Emperor Naruhito and next will have a bilateral meeting with newly elected Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
Takaichi said that the cherry trees would be gifted in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary next year and would bolster a new “golden age” of US-Japan relations.
