JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Some familiar roots have helped a former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback find a new home. The Minnesota Vikings signed former Jaguars quarterback John Wolford to their practice squad on Wednesday, and there aare plenty of ties related to the Jaguars that go into the signing.

Former Jaguars quarterback signs with Vikings
Former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback John Wolford has a new home. The Minnesota Vikings announced that they have signed Wolford to the practice squad. This move comes after Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending injury. Wolford joins a young Vikings' quarterback room with JJ McCarthy and Max Brosmer.
The 30-year-old from Wake Forest failed to make the Jaguars' initial 53-man roster in late August, but he's since found work in Minnesota. Wolford's last in-game NFL action came with the Rams in 2022, completing 38 of 62 pass attempts for 390 yards, three interceptions and one touchdown over three appearances.
Minnesota has signed John Wolford to its practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday morning.
