International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan is the first person to be hit with economic and travel sanctions authorized by U.S. President Donald Trump that target the war crimes tribunal over investigations of U.

The ICC pushed back against Trump's new sanctions targeting the court saying it threatens to "erode international rule of law," calling for a united front.

The president signed an executive order that said the I.C.C.’s actions against Israel and preliminary investigations into the United States “set a dangerous precedent.”
