Carlos Alcaraz won the Cincinnati Open title in anticlimactic circumstances as rival Jannik Sinner retired due to illness just 23 minutes into the match.

Both Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz lifted the Cincinnati Masters title for the first time in their respective careers. Swiatek beat Jasmine Paolini in straight sets, but Alcaraz received a walkover from arch-rival Jannik Sinner as the first seed was ill.
