Mac Jones has played so well this season that it's keeping the quarterback controversy notion on the 49ers alive.

Mac Jones is giving his coach a lot to think about with a potential quarterback controversy on the horizon. The former first round pick has stepped in for the injured Brock Purdy as the starter for the San Franciso 49ers. Purdy signed a five-year extension in May for $265 million.
