Privately funded 80-foot American flagpole at Vidalia’s Shelter Insurance office is set to become a new town landmark, visible across the area and open as a public space for reflection.

YARMOUTH PORT — An American flag flew from a 25-foot-tall white fiberglass flagpole at Liberty Hill Inn on Wednesday. Greg Richardson stood beneath it, dwarfed by the symbol and its size and beauty.
