Miles Wood scored twice, with his second goal coming 2:53 into overtime, to rally the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
Kulich, 21, has been out since Nov. 1 with what Ruff initially described as fluid buildup in his ears that was making it difficult for him to play. Kulich had been operating as the Sabres’ top center in the absence of Josh Norris, who got injured in Buffalo’s first game of the season.
Svechnikov took a pass from K'Andre Miller and scored with a one-timer under the crossbar on the power play to give the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead at 4:34 of the second. Svechnikov has six points (four goals, two assists) in the past six games after being held without a point in his first eight games.
