But when the Las Vegas Raiders hired Kubiak as their next team leader, Raiders owner Mark Davis said it went beyond that — specifically, the 2026 NFL Draft, as Las Vegas holds the No. 1 selection. Davis met with reporters after Kubiak’s introductory press conference on Tuesday and revealed a significant reason for the hiring.

Analyst Kirk Herbstreit questioned the fit of Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza with the Las Vegas Raiders during a recent podcast appearance.

Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports labeled Las Vegas as one of the top landing spots for disgruntled Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, projecting it would take a third and fifth-round pick to acquire the All-Pro receiver.
