As the NFL shifts into free agency, countless rumors have spread throughout social media, one of which has involved NFL legend Rob Gronkowski. Before the March 12 free agency period begins, fans on social media hinted at Gronkowski's potential return to the NFL.

Lammey said on X, formerly Twitter, Tuesday that Gronkowski "is considering a return to the NFL," citing league sources. He added that Gronkowski could be interested in joining the Denver Broncos to play for head coach Sean Payton, who he worked with at Fox Sports.

The Rob Gronkowski unretirement rumors were short lived. Earlier this week, Cecil Lammey of DenverSports.com reported that the former tight end was considering coming out of retirement, and the Denver Broncos were said to be in the mix for Gronk's services.

Rob Gronkowski hasn't played in the NFL since the 2021 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and is well entrenched in his media career with Fox. The future Hall of Fame tight end is only 35, though, so he's still the subject of comeback rumors.
