Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise spent years trying to make their version of "Ford v Ferrari" with "F1" director Joseph Kosinski.

The F1 actor, 61, spoke to with The National in an interview published July 3 to discuss his latest racing film, when he explained what exactly went down that prevented he and Cruise, 63, from starring together in what later became the 2019 sports drama featuring Matt Damon and Christian Bale.

Brad Pitt has recalled how he and Tom Cruise were lined up to star in the racing movie Ford v Ferrari before the Mission: Impossible icon learnt that he wouldn't be driving in the film.
