The Coast Guard shared news of the rescue on its social media page: “Air Station Traverse City hoisted 4 children from a rock offshore Black Beach Trailhead at 2:10 a.m.,” the military said. “AIRSTA MH-60 crew arrived, then hoisted 4 people from the rock and transferred them to awaiting EMS in a field near the scene.”

U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crews worked together Tuesday to rescue two people aboard a disabled 39-foot sailboat near Ossabaw Island.

Four girls under the age of 14 were rescued by the US Coast Guard Sunday after being stranded on a rock in Lake Superior, Minnesota. The children had paddleboarded out to the small island Saturday night when their parents reported them missing.
