Test captain Shubman Gill, who was not part of the last few T20I series, has been picked in Indias squad for the Asia Cup 2025, which will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and Chairman of Selectors Ajit Agarkar announced India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup during a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday, with Shubman Gill’s return after a year and his elevation to vice-captaincy being the key takeaway.

With the announcement of India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad, Shubman Gill has been named vice-captain, while Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team.

Gill has 2647 runs in 37 Tests while Ganguly had made 2681. Gill's average is 41.35 while Ganguly averaged 47.03 after 37 Tests.
