The last time these two teams met, Kings star DeMar DeRozan erupted for 42 points and hit the game-winner in overtime to lift Sacramento to a road win in Dallas. With Sabonis sidelined, the Kings will certainly need their other stars, like DeRozan, to step up and steal another one in Dallas.

Kyrie Irving took a scary tumble Monday that forced him to leave the Mavericks’ game against the Kings early. The nine-time NBA All-Star had to be helped off the court after he went flailing to the ground while attempting to drive down the lane and stayed on the court for several minutes in what could be a major Mavericks injury concern.

The run of victories extended to four after the Kings took care of the shorthanded Mavericks, whose season took another disastrous turn when Kyrie Irving’s left leg landed awkwardly on a drive to the basket late in the first quarter.

Sacramento certainly needs a win over the Mavericks. With a win, Dallas would jump the Kings in the standings in the West. Both teams are 17.5 games behind the No. 1 seed, though the Mavericks have played a couple of more games than the Kings.
