ACTON — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the deaths of two women in Acton, a community near the Antelope Valley. Deputies responded to reports of the deaths around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Soledad Canyon Road, near the Santa Clara River.
Authorities are searching for an inmate who they say walked away from the Acton Conservation Camp on Tuesday evening. At around 9:15 p.m, they realized that Jessie Meza, 38, was missing during a head count, according to a statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
