Vice President J.D. Vance's decision to jump into the fray and attack Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky during an Oval Office appearance on Friday was called out on MSNBC by a former White House official who claimed that was not his forum for speaking.

"Zelensky refused to abandon Kyiv, even after other leaders pleaded with him to leave.Trump hid in a bunker when protesters were outside the White House, then claimed he was inspecting the basement 🙄."

The vice president served as the attack dog during Friday’s meeting between the US and Ukrainian presidents. But he was operating with the full permission and backup of his boss.
