Pavel Zacha scores on a rebound with six seconds left in overtime, leading the Boston Bruins to a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

BOSTON — The Bruins are down another forward after Johnny Beecher suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Senators. Beecher took a hit from Kurtis MacDermid late in the first period and did not return.

Charlie McAvoy picked up a loose puck in the left corner and skated all the way across the zone before sliding a shot on net from along the goal line. Linus Ullmark made the initial save, but the rebound sat near the right post, where Zacha jammed it in.

The Boston Bruins (9-7-0) defeated the Ottawa Senators (6-5-3) 3-2 in overtime on Thursday night. Michael Amadio and Claude Giroux scored for the Senators.

Where this Bruins’ season takes us is still anyone’s guess. But right now? They’ve got a little something going on. The B’s extended their winning streak to five games after Pavel Zacha’s goal beat the clock with 5.

Marat Khusnutdinov scored 2:07 into overtime and the Boston Bruins beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-3. Alex Tuch’s goal with 5:35 left in regulation tied it, wiping out Buffalo’s two-goal deficit in the third period.

The sixth-place squad in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins (8-7), host the 12th-ranked Ottawa Senators (6-5-2) at TD Garden on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET. Ottawa suffered a 4-3 overtime loss on the road its last time out on Nov.
