A young loggerhead turtle washed up on a beach after being cold-stunned was rescued and issued an airline ticket to a sanctuary in Britain.
Among the state's barrier islands, few remain as untouched as Waites Island. There are no roads here. No beach houses, tiki bars or boardwalks.
