In a potentially groundbreaking crossover event that promises to combine the worlds of track and field and professional football, American gold medalist sprinter Noah Lyles and five-time NFL All-Pro Tyreek Hill are set to face off in a head-to-head race.

After verbally sparring for some time, Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Olympic champion Noah Lyles agreed to race each other this spring or summer, the duo told People Magazine in a joint interview.

Hill has run a 40-yard dash at an NFL workout in 4.29 seconds. Lyles won the 100 meters at the Olympics last year in 9.784. Most likely, they'll race at a distance in between. People said the race will happen sometime before the national championships in July.
