The Pakistani city of Lahore celebrated the revival of a historic kite festival called Basant last weekend, 19 years after kite flying there was deemed too dangerous and banned.
Pakistanis are taking to rooftops across Lahore as they again celebrate the Basant festival by flying colorful kites above their city. The event had been banned due to the many deaths and injuries.
The annual Hubballi International Kite Festival and sports meet of indigenous games promoted by Member of Parliament and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi will be organised in Hubballi on February 7 and 8.
