Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on Monday invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy for talks on gas transit amid a spat over Kyiv's move to halt Russian gas deliveries. Zelenskiy had invited Fico to visit Kyiv for talks on Friday, an invitation he alluded to as he announced his meeting with Michal Simecka, the head of Progressive Slovakia, the country's biggest opposition party.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico called Ukraine an unreliable partner and accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of blackmailing European leaders for support at a parliamentary meeting on Jan. 10.
