The WWE is kicking off its streaming partnership with ESPN a few months ahead of schedule—and live from Indianapolis.
Indy, which was recently featured in SBJ as one of the country’s hottest sports business markets, had hosted several WWE arena events and a WrestleMania prior to this year’s Royal Rumble. A future WrestleMania and SummerSlam are expected to come to the home of the Indianapolis Colts as a part of the deal finalized last summer between the Indiana Sports Corp.

WWE’s partnership with ESPN will start earlier than first announced. The WWE’s first premium live event on the network’s platforms will be Wrestlepalooza from Indianapolis on Sept. 20.

INDIANAPOLIS–The first ever “Wrestepalooza” will be held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis September 20. Wrestlepalooza will be the first premium live event streamed under the WWE’s new partnership with ESPN. It will be streamed on ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer platform. It will also stream internationally on Netflix.
