The next big iPhone update is on the horizon and new features have just been announced for what will be in it.

The Apple Inc. designer who helped develop the iPhone Air — and even starred in its introduction video — has left, marking the latest setback for the company’s design group.

The shift reflects an effort to stabilize revenue throughout the year and reduce pressure on its workforce and suppliers.

Apple is reportedly testing a new kind of official iPhone case that doesn’t just protect—it interacts. According to a tip via MacRumors, the company is working on a “touch-sensitive layer” built into protective cases for upcoming Pro models.

The iPhone Pocket has no electronics in it, but it’s an extra pocket, one where you can place your iPhone. Perhaps you’d want it because it means you no longer have to worry about your smartphone spoiling the line of your suit, for example.

The company will reportedly split up the release of various iPhone models, with some of them rolling out in the spring, others, each autumn.
