After a few years and a handover of the shield, Captain America is back. Marvel Studios’ latest adventure and the fourth solo Cap movie, “Captain America: Brave New World,” is opening in theaters this weekend and has made $12 million in Thursday previews at the box office.

It’s Valentine’s Day and even though there aren’t any female skewing movies on the marquee such as Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, it’s still bound to be a big moviegoing day even though we have the dude-skewing Captain America: Brave New World.

According to reports, the first movie starring Mackie as Captain America earned $12 million domestically in Thursday previews. Captain America: Brave New World opens in 4,105 theaters in North America on Friday.
