Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson on Saturday signed an executive order directing city police to investigate and document alleged misconduct by federal immigration officers with an eye toward prosecution.

The directive makes Chicago the first city in the nation "to leverage local authority to pursue legal accountability for misconduct" by federal agents, according to the city.
