Tuning company BBR has developed a series of upgrades for the Mazda 2.3-litre DSI turbo engine, which powers the MPS versions of the Mazda 3 and 6. The tuning upgrades are available in three phases.

And this is now where Mazda may have missed a massive trick. In 2000, it showed the 626 MPS Concept at the Geneva Motor Show – a direct rival to the WRX and EVO. And then Mazda never made it.
