The Republican National Committee argued that counties do not have the authority to allow voters in the swing state to correct ballots that do not comply with the rules.

The Republican Party is asking the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to find it illegal for county boards of elections to alert voters to defective mail-in ballots and give them the chance to correct any errors.

Voters in Pennsylvania are not yet able to cast ballots, despite confusion over a state law concerning applications for mail ballots

For now, mail-in ballots returned without a date on the outside of the envelope will not be counted in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
