More than a week after four women alleged Smokey Robinson had sexually abused them for years, the LA County Sheriff’s Department has opened a case.

Attorney Christopher Frost said that he welcomes the investigation and that he is confident that it will be determined that Robinson is innocent of the claims.

Last week, four former housekeepers of Robinson filed a lawsuit alleging that he repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted them, in some cases for years, while they worked for him.
