Health officials in Montgomery County are investigating and contact tracing after a child was diagnosed with measles.

The first case of measles of measles for 2025 has been confirmed and though there is no sign of measles in Lehigh Valley, the local health networks are preparing for the worst.

A patient who came to a hospital emergency room in Montgomery County is Pennsylvania's first confirmed measles case this year amid a national surge of the highly contagious virus, according to health officials.

The unvaccinated child visited the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's King of Prussia campus emergency room on Feb. 26, the county's Department of Health said.
