The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the federal agency within the Department of Transportation responsible for automotive safety, has opened a new investigation looking into a Ram defect that may not have been remedied by a previous recall.

The NHTSA opens an investigation into 1.2 million 2013-2018 Ram pickup trucks previously recalled by Stellantis to resolve a transmission issue.
