A woman was hospitalized on Monday after officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said she was bitten by an alligator at Tiger Creek Preserve in Polk County.

The FWC said the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and a trapper was called to remove the alligator.

WFLA reported the gator bit the woman on the elbow at the Tiger Creek Preserve, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials. The woman was hospitalized for her injuries.
