What a magnificent sight! The Cumbres & Toltec ran a rotary snowplow from Chama to Cumbres Pass yesterday. It was the first time a rotary snowplow has run in the Rockies in 20 years. The event was in celebration of the 140th anniversary of the year the railroad was built (1880) and the 50th anniversary of the year the railroad was purchased by the states of Colorado and New Mexico (1970) to operate as a living history museum, preserving and interpreting steam railroading.
