In 2024, KDPS made incredible strides in keeping our city safe, with a significant reduction in violent crime, including a 36% decrease in shots fired and a 54% decrease in homicides. With over 122,000 police calls for service and over 13,000 fire/rescue calls, we remained steadfast in our commitment to protecting and serving the residents who call Kalamazoo home. As we reflect on a year of progress, we remain proud of our team’s dedication and look forward to continuing this momentum into 2025.
