Mt. Manaslu Summit The summit of Manaslu, the world's eighth-highest mountain at 8,163 meters (26,781 feet), was first achieved by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu on May 9, 1956. Located in Nepal's Mansiri Himal, Manaslu is open for climbing expeditions, which take approximately 65 days and involve trekking to the base camp (4,700 meters) and then ascending the mountain via routes such as the common northeast face.
