Today is Shark and Ray Awareness Day! 🦈🌊 The Phoenix Zoo is home to several ray and shark species found in Stingray Bay. We had a blast celebrating World Oceans Day with everyone and learning about our aquatic friends! We’re rounding out our special Wildlife of the Week highlight of the bamboo shark! These reef sharks are aptly named for their identifying markings, the whitespotted bamboo shark named for the white spots adorning the body and the brownbanded bamboo shark named for the light brown bands found from tip to tail of the sharks.
