Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) mengeluarkan peringatan dini tsunami untuk lima wilayah di Indonesia. Peringatan itu menyusul terjadinya gempa bumi berkekuatan magnitudo 7,7 di wilayah Laut Sulawesi. Berdasarkan data BMKG, gempa terjadi pada pukul 06.37.42 WIB, Senin, 8 Juni 2026. Pusat gempa berada di koordinat 5,69 Lintang Utara (LU) dan 125,05 Bujur Timur (BT). Lokasi tersebut berjarak 236 kilometer arah Barat Laut dari Tahuna, Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe, Sulawesi Utara.
